my good friend and hair architect, russell christopher, was moving into a new studio on colfax and called up "cky" to design his space. russ is a hip, forward thinker, and not to mention great at his job. we needed to create a space that was unique and met his "hair" philosophy to keep the design: simple, lite, edgey, & organic.
to stay within budget we used our friends ikea and cb2 for specific lighting & furniture...
cky designed these custom light fixtures. local steel fabricators produced the steel frame. we then wrapped the frame with chickenwire and applied a final powdercoat finish...simple and large in scale to provide a statement...
we can't forget to mention the fabulous painting at the back wall, courtesy of ivar zeile, from +plus gallery. artist: wes magyar. look at that hair!
