did i mention i'm from oklahoma? hence, all the midwest architecture. i have 2 amazing sisters and they both live in texas at the moment. 1 in dallas and yes, 1 in houston. one year i decided to surprise my 'dallas' sister for her 30th birthday. i had to help with the surprise party and my role was to get her out of the house for a few hours. easy enough. selfishly, i decided to take her to the modern art museum of fort worth. she was not as thrilled, but entertains my nerdy artsy side.
when you're taking countless photos of architecture, and they all (you can be the judge) turn out nicely, then you have an amazing piece of architecture. architect: tadao ando exhibit at the time: ron mueck
the ron mueck exhibit was weird and beth was not game.....until we leaned over the balcony to see a 15' baby....that looked like it was just birthed. surreal. all the sculptures were either xs or over sized and they have this creepy gremlinish look to them, but also human so it was impressive.
clockwise left to right: "big man" 80" x 47-1/2" x 80-1/2", "two woman" 33-1/2" x 18-7/8" x 15", and "in bed" 63-3/4" x 255-7/8" x 155-1/2"

I've lamented not seeing the mueck's in person; after seeing the photos I need to find a museum with one of his pieces.
