my sophomore year of college my architecture professor asked us to select an object that represented functional design. form and function. honestly, i had no idea what to grab. nervously i over thought the task at hand and reached for something without reasoning. the answer she was looking for was in a paper clip. simple, sleek, and functional.
12 years later, and much wiser, i have my answer…the paper clips cousin, the binder clip. and not just because it’s a paper clip, but b/c i use it for everything: my key chain, clipping papers together, and a even a chip clip. it serves it’s purpose (function) and it’s pretty (form).
