the isabella stewart gardner museum recently opened it's new addition, designed by renzo piano. the addition housed mainly in glass w/ metal accents creates a beautiful concentration of balanced natural light throughout. attached to the original gardner palace by a glass corridor. the courtyards are a must see (but no cameras allowed)!

Recently my beau & I took a quick vay kay off to Boston for Easter weekend. And within Boston's traditional soul we found a super cool boutique hotel, Hotel Ames. Ahhh, the Woodward Bar was fabulous, hotel rooms smartly detailed, not to mention the bedding, but the oysters.....I miss them all.

Some may recall that the east coast was blasted with snow over the latest Halloween weekend. It just so happened I was in New Canaan for the blizzard wondering through pitch black grocery stores & liquor stores to make sure my best gal pal and i made the best chicken tortilla soup for trick or treaters. The only glitch, Halloween was canceled. Who cancels Halloween?...Apparently the same people who close Phillip Johnson's Glass House due to a 'lil snow. { sigh and a couple tears }. luckily the Harvard 5 starchitects still have some homes standing in and around New Canaan's gorgeous landscape for a little drive by action. Literally, yours truly from the car.
