pop!

route 66, just,  got,  interesting! elliott & associates { okc architect } designed “pops”. pops is a filling station, 30 minutes outside oklahoma city on route 66. fact,  oklahoma lacks color. there are no mountains or oceans to spice things up, just miles and miles of flat land… and it’s dry. but I believe it has potential and rand elliott and team took care of the color, providing  10,000 colored pop bottles that lined the interiors walls and an a 65 foot led soda pop bottle to landmark the location.

snapping shots at dusk was not an option { quick trip between wedding festivities} , but do check it out at night.

 

 

the perfect ending...

this is not my first time to write about steve. ever since the lake i've been craving the southern dog. basically i'll be taking care of my appetite this weekend. BUT it is safe to say i am a true american {red, white, and blue} meat is a favorite past time. besides steve's snappin dogs i'll be cooking ribs. this recipe { check it here } is sooo easy and trust me, delish! although i use a bbq sauce my parents bring up from okahoma called head country bbq....so good.

the perfect start to a friday

Omygoodness, indulgence, it’s a fine thing. for me, it’s right around the corner at city o city. once, home of watercourse foods the casual vegan eatery,  c - o - c  focuses more on baked goods. 2 years ago I was convinced i embarked on an amazing discovery, sweet potato cinnamon rolls. fresh, unique, fluffy,  and delicious. .. until…the day i arrived and they were sold out. i was pressured to purchase the glazed doughnut… and I’ve ever looked back since. . .

you’ll have to taste it for yourself {unless the doughnut maker is in costa rica for 2 weeks and makes you wait}
