design after dark | BESPOKE window
Design After Dark has since passed, February 10, 2012, but the following are images of the storefront created for this year's theme Bespoke. CKY can only take credit for assembly. The creative genius behind the design, Melissa Belongea, designed this exquisite masterpiece for our guests to experience a Bespoke feeling when they approached the vacant space owned by Fentress Architects.

mobile IKEA...seriously?
maybe i’m the only one with mixed feelings about ikea coming into town? on one hand, it gives the masses availability to the Scandinavian’s cheap furniture design and more homes don’t end up with sh*tty traditional furniture. on the other hand, if you do your homework, furniture is accessible inexpensively by very local (or local w/nonlocal manufacturers) craftsman that won’t cost you an arm and a leg. and then the last hand, is that you’ll be replacing that crappy $99 table with one from a cool furniture designer for $400 that will last you a lifetime……and your children’s lifetime….and their children’s lifetime…..you get the pic.
this is the monstrosity I saw on Speer this afternoon. seriously! (?)
